Common Name Schenck's Habenaria [German Botanist in Brazil 1800's- early 1900's]

Flower Size 1.2" [3 cm]

Found in Brazil and northern Argentina as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an almost globose to ellipsoid tuber giving rise to 2 basal, almost opposite, oblong-orbicular, sessile, rounded to slightly acute apically leaves that blooms in the late fall on an erect, 2.8 to 8.8" [7 to 22 cm] long, few flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate, shorter than to as long as the ovary floral bracts and carrying clear green flowers.
