Common Name Schindler's Habenaria - In China Shi Zi Lan

Flower Size 1.45" [3.6 cm]

Found in Korea, Anhui, Fujian, Guangdong, Hebei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, Jilin, Liaoning and Zhejiang provinces of China in forests and grasslands along valleys at elevations of 200 to 1700 meters as a small to large sized, cold growing terrestrial with oblong to ovoid, fleshy tubers giving rise to an erect, terete stem carrying 4 to 7, linear, amplexicaul-sheathing, acuminate leaves that blooms in the summer through mid fall on an erect, glabrous, 2.2 to 7.2" [5.5 to 18 cm] long, 6 to 25 flowered inflorescence with linear-lanceolate to ovate-lanceolate, basal ones longer than the ovary floral bracts.

Separated from H sagittifera by the petals and the slashed lateral lobes of the labellum. The petals on the other hand are more reminiscent of H linearifolia. Schlechetr 1920
