Common Name The Slim Beaked Habenaria
Flower Size 1" [2.5 cm]
Found in Angola, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Tanzania and Transvaal South Africa in boggy grasslands at elevations of 1280 to 2300 meters as a small to medium sized, cool to cold growing terrestrial with ellipsoid to ovoid tubers giving rise to a leafy stem carrying 4 to 8 the basal 1 to 2, usually sheath-like the middle ones semi-spreading, ovate to lanceolate, the upper ones grading smaller into bracts like leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, terminal, to 4.4" [11 cm] long, laxly 1 to 7 flowered inflorescence carrying sweetly fragrant flowers
