Common Name The Shining Hapalochilus

Flower Size 4 1/2" [11.25 cm]

Found in Papua and New Guinea as a miniature sized, hot growing epiphyte that is on mossy trees at elevations around 1200 meters with conical-cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying a single apical, erect, coriaceous, glabrous, narrowly ligulate, obtuse leaf that is narrowly subpetiolate below and blooms in the winter on a basal, erect, 3 3/4" [9 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with an elliptic floral bract that holds the flower just above the leaves.
