Found in New Guinea at elevations around 100 to 300 meters as a hot growing epiphyte that blooms in the late spring through fall on a pallid yellow inflorescence with many flowers.

Schlechter states that the orchid often forms large mats on old tree trunks and large thick branches and from these mats arise the pallid yellow inflorescence.
