Common Name Wang's Holcoglossum [Chinese Taxomonist 1950's] - In China Tong Ju Cao She Lan

Flower Size 2" [5 cm]

Found in southwestern Guangxi and southeastern Yunnan provinces of China and north Vietnam in humid, mossy, mixed and coniferous forests on mossy branches of old, dwarf, gnarled trees at elevations around 250 to 1200 meters as a pendulous, miniature to small sized, cool to warm growing epiphyte with a stem carrying several, nearly basal, subterete, fleshy leaves that blooms in the fall on a 2" [5 cm] long, purple, 5 flowered inflorescence with ovate floral bracts.
