Found in Brazil as a small sized epiphyte with small, cylindrical pseudobulbs carrying single, apical, fleshy, linear, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on a pendent, paniculate, polyanthus, to 20 [50 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence said to be a synonym of Ionosis utricularioides but there are obvious differences so I have kept them apart.
