Found in Minas Gerias state of Brazil on low moss-covered tree trunks at elevations around 1300 meters in deep shade, with low air movement and high humidity as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with a few short roots giving rise to 5 to 6, small, light grey green, ovate, acute, pilose leaves that blooms in the late summer and fall on a terminal, thin, pilose, racemose, 1.6" [4 cm] long, 1 to several flowered inflorescence.

"Closely related to Lankesterella longicollis or even more so Lankesterella spannageliana were it not for the short, rounded spur and the differently structured labellum". Hoehne 1945
