Common Name The Yacht Like Lepanthes [refers to the appendix shape]

Found in northwestern Ecuador at elevations around 800 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with a slender, erect ramicaul enveloped by 5 to 6 minutely ciliate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, purplish beneath, coriaceous, broadly oblong, obtuse, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the winter and spring on a filiform, very congested, distichous, .6" [1.5 cm] long, successively several flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf.
