Found in Costa Rica in oak forests at elevations around 2750 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by minutely ciliate, lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, narrowly elliptic, acute leaf that blooms in the spring on a congested, distichous, longer than the leaf, peduncle .6 to .8" [1.5 to 2 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence
