Found in the Dominican Republic in primary broadleaved forests at elevations around 1650 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with erect to ascending ramicauls enveloped by 5 to 7, ribbed, microscopically echinate lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, more or less convex, slightly sulcate medially, sub-orbicular to broadly ovate, basally rounded into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall on 1 to 5, .4" [1 cm] long, adpressed to the leaf, successively single, 1 to 15 flowered inflorescence.
