Common Name The Crescent Moon Lepanthes [refers to the petals]

Found in Tachira state of Venezuela at elevations around 2500 meters as a small sized, cold growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped by lepanthiform sheaths with acuminate apices and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, ovate, acute, acuminate, rounded and contracted below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on a filiform, congested, disitchous, 2.4" [6 cm] long, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising on the back of the leaf.
