Found in Oaxaca and Chiapas states of Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Venezuela at elevations of 1450 meters to 1650 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with erect stems enveloped by 2 to 5 lepanthiform sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, widely ovate, elliptic to suborbiculate, acute to subacute, tridenticulate, green above, purple beneath, coriaceous leaf that blooms in the fall on 1 to 5, arising on the back of the leaf, .35 to .6" [8 to 16 mm] long, successively single, to 20 flowered, distichous, very congested inflorescence
