Found in the Chinese Himalayas Japan, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam in shady areas of broad leaved forests at elevations of 600 to 1000 meters as a mini-miniature to small sized, warm growing, mycoheterotrophic terrestrial orchid with an erect, 2.8 to 11.2" [7 to 28 cm] long, laxly 3 to 20 flowered inflorescence with 2 to 3 scalelike, brown sheaths and ovate floral bracts that blooms in the spring and carrying a few flowers in a group confined to the apex.
