Found in Bangladesh, western Himalayas, Assam India, eastern Himalayas, Nepal, southern India, Sikkim, Bhutan, Myanmar, Thailand, southern Yunnan Province of China and Vietnam in sparse woods at elevations of 1300 to 2500 meters as a medium sized, cool to cold growing epiphyte with tufted, ovoid-cylindric, sheathed pseudobulbs carrying 2 to 4, alternate, membraneous, linear-lanceolate, acute to acuminate, sessile leaves that blooms in the fall through spring on an arcuate, slender, fractiflex, 3.2" to 12" [8 to 30 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence carrying resupinate flowers.
