Common Name Niessen's Lycaste [Andrea Niessen - Colombian Orchid Enthusiast and Nursery Owner Current]

Found in SW Colombia in grasslands and on grassy roadside embankments as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte and naturally occuring terrestrial hybrid between L schilleriana and L occulta. This is a varied hybrid as may be expected when the parents are so different in size so can have inflorescence that differ in size from 3.4" to 4.6" .
