Common Name Reichenbach's Sudamerlycaste [German Orchidologist 1800's]

A wet montane forest terrestrial from Peru that is found at elevations around 1600 meters as a medium to large sized, warm to cool growing terrestrial with caespitose, narrowly elliptic, angled, pseudobulbs carrying, 2 apical, erect, plicate, narrowly oblong-lanceolate, acute, gradually narrowing below into the elongate, channeled, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the spring on an basal, erect, 6" [1`5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence with 3, acuminate, acute, loose, bracts.with nocturnally fragrant flowers of marine algae.
