Common Name Grisebach's Lyroglossa [German Botanist in West Indies later 1800's]

Flower Size 1/2" [1.25 cm]

Found in Trinidad & Tobago, Surinam, French Guiana, Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia and Parana state of Brazil in open savannahs as a small sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with rather numerous, clustered, linear-clavate tuberoids giving rise to an erect, slender, aphyllus, tomentose stem carrying only a few distant, densely villose, oblong-lanceoalte sheaths that blooms on a rather laxly, few flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, tomentose, much longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying rather small, tubular, more or less arcuate flowers
