Common Name The Short Toothed Malaxis

Found in Fiji, Tonga, Vanuatu and the Solomon Islands in fernland forests at elevations of 350 to 1000 meters as a small to just large sized, hot to warm growing terrestrial with a creeping rhizome giving rise to an erect stem carrying 5 to 7, ovate to ovate-elliptic, acute, petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, peduncle and rachis weakly costate, 10" [25 cm] long, subdensely many flowered inflorescence with lanceolate, acuminate floral bracts.
