Found in Ecuador at elevations around 3000 meters as a miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with an erect, stout stem enveloped completely by 2, acute sheaths and carrying 2, apical, cordate, acuminate, abruptly narrowing below into the base leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 6.4" [16 cm]] long, rachis short, densly, held in an apical corymb, many flowered inflorescence.
