Found in Zamora-Chinchipe province of Ecuador in the Cordillera del Condor at elevations around 950 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm growing epiphyte with erect, slender ramicauls enveloped by 2 to 3 loose, tubular sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, narrowly elliptic, subacute, cuneate below in to the slender petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a slender, prostrate to descending, 4.4" [11 cm] long, loose, successively single, few flowered inflorescence arising from low on the ramicaul with a tubular floral bract and holding the flower below the leaf.
