Found in Zamora-Chinchipe and Morona-Santiago provinces of southeastern Ecuador and northeastern Peru at elevations of 1200 to 1800 meters as a miniature sized, cool growing epiphyte with stout, erect ramicauls enveloped basally by 2 to 3, loose, imbricating sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coriaceous, elliptic, acute, narrowly cuneate below into the shortly petiolate base leaf that blooms in the fall and winter on a slender, arising from low on the ramicaul, with a bract near the base, erect, triquetrous, 4.8 to 5.6" [12 to 14 cm] long, successively few, single flowered inflorescence with white, papery, imbricating, as long as the pedicel floral bracts and holding the flower well above the leaf.
"Characterized by the medium sized habit with the peduncle surpassing the leaf. The fleshy green flowers are produced successively ina congested raceme. The sepals are connate into a sepaline tube that is more or less laterally compressed with the lateal sepals shallowly connate, less than half their length. The 3 free protions of all 3 sepals are antrorse and broad, scarcelt tail-like." Luer 2000
