Common Name The Virgin de Rose Masdevallia
Flower Size 1.6" [4 cm]
Found in Narino department of Colombia at elevations of 2000 to 2200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing epiphyte with erect ramicauls enveloped by 1 to 2 tubular, scarious sheaths and carrying a single, apical, erect, coricaceous, elliptic, subacute, subplicate, cntracted and narrowing below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the summer on a green to brown, thin, erect, glabrous, 3.5 to 4.68" [8.8 to 9.2 cm] long, successively single, 2 flowered inflorescence carrying the flower above the leaves.
