Found in Venezuela and Colombia at elevations around 950 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with clustered, ellipsoid, laterally compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by several, leafless and leaf bearing sheaths and carrying asingle, apical, coriaceous, linear, oblong to oblong elliptic, acute to shortly apiculate-acuminate, attenuate and conduplicate into the petiolate base leaf that blooms on 1 to 4, basal, erect, 3.6 to 6" [9 to 15 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped below by several close to distant, acute to shortly acuminate bracts.
