Found in Junin Peru in cool wet cloud forests at elevations of 1800 meters as a small sized, cool growing epiphyte with oblate, moderately compressed, rounded edged pseudobulbs enveloped by 2 basal, pairs of distichous, imbricate sheaths and carrying a singel, apical, oblong-ligulate, taoering to the conduplicate, petiolate base leaf that blooms in the spring on 2 on each pseudobulb, suberect, terete, 1.6 to 2" [4 to 5 cm] long, single flowered inflorescence enveloped by 4 to5, subinflated, close tubular bracts.
