Found in Guyana, Venezuela, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Brazil at elevations of 100 to 1000 meters in tropical, wet cloud forests as a small to medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with an elongate rhizome between each ovate, flattened pseudobulb enveloped basally by well developed lateral leaves and sheaths and carrying a single apical, linear leaf that is conduplicate below and blooms at most any time of the year on many, basal, single flowered, to 1 1/2" [3.75 cm] long, inflorescence enveloped basally by 2 to 3, inflated sheaths
