Common Name The Dwarf Maxillaria

Flower Size about 1/4" [.8 cm]

This is a miniature sized, hot growing, solitary leafed epiphyte occuring in Brazil and the Guianas with ovoid elonganted pseudobulbs that are enveloped basally by several, imbricating, brown sheaths carrying a single apical, erect, slightly fleshy, olive green leaf that blooms on a 1/2" [1.5 cm] long, erect, sheathed inflorescence arising in the spring and summer.

Said to be synomonous with M minuta but I have left them separate as there appears to be quite a few differences in both the plant and the flowers.
