Found from Venezuela to Peru as an unifoliate, sheathed pseudobulbed epiphtye found in wet montane forests at elevations around 640 meters that blooms in the late winter and early spring with a basal, bracteate, short, single flowered inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb with the emergence of a new growth and with the flower held at mid leaf.
