Found in southeastern Brazil at elevations up to 800 meters as a small to medium sized, warm growing terrestrial orchid with a basal rosette of ovoid to suborbicular, acuminate, gradually narrowing below into the thin, elongate, petiolate base leaves that blooms in the fall on a terminal, erect, few flowered inflorescence with several, well spaced, lanceolate, acute, inflated bracts and longer than the ovary floral bracts.
