Found in northeastern Madagascar as a very small, nearly stemless, leafless plant with roots giving rise to a densely clustered, 1.2" [3 cm] long, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence with semiamplexicaul, ovate-subobtuse floral bracts and carrying orange flowers
