Found in Venezuela without locational data as a fairly large terrestrial with a decumbent in the basal part, ascendent and very sparsely hairy above stem carrying ovate to ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, rounded to cuneate below into the petiolate base leaves that blooms on an erect, terminal, pilose towards the apex, 4.8" [12 cm] long, laxly few to several flowered inflorescence with shorter than the ovary floral bracts carrying white flowers with greenish tinged sepals.
Rchb.f compared the leaves and flower size of this species to Ludisia discolor
" Microchilus hyphaematicus and this species both share a deeply bilobed epichile but M brachyrrhynchis has flower segments more than twice as large, a longer spur, a thinner hypochile and obliquely oblanceolate-obtriangular to subspathulate petals with a rounded to obtuse apex. Moreover the petals of M hyphaematicus are narrowly ligulate to oblong." Szlachetko & Kolanowska
