Found in Kenya, Tanzania and Malawi in dry woodlands and near the coast at elevations of sea level to 500 meters as a medium to large sized, hot growing epiphyte with long grey brown, verrucose roots radiating from a short stem and blooms in the winter on to 10, simultaneous, erect to pendulous, 3/4 to 4" [2 to 10 cm] long, to 20 flowered inflorescence with acute sheathing bracts
