Found in Costa Rica, Panama and Choco' and Antioquia departments of Colombia in lower montane cloud forests high in the crowns of trees at elevations of 1000 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cool growing epiphyte occuring on leguminous trees with ovoid-ellipsoid, apically unifoliate pseudobulbs subtended with 4 to 6 foliaceous bracts with oblong-elliptic leaves that blooms in the fall and spring on a lateral, bracteate, 3 to 5 flowered, 1' [30 cm] long, racemose inflorescence arising on a mature pseudobulb.
