Common Name Castro's Mormodes [Brazilian Orchid Enthusiast later 1900's]

Found in Rondonia Brazil in Amazonian forests at elevations around 100 meters as a small to medium sized, hot growing epiphyte with close set, ovoid-fusiform, several noded pseudobulbs enveloped in youth by imbricate, leafless and leafbearing sheaths and carrying numerous, deciduous, acute, plicate leaves that blooms in the spring on 1 to 2, erect, 8.5" [21.5 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.
