Found in Para state of Brazil in Amazon forests on a dead tree at elevations around 40 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform, aggregate, attenuate apically pseudobulbs enveloped basally by membraneous leafbearing sheaths carrying plicate, oblong-lanceolate, thin, green, deciduous leaves that blooms in the spring on a lateral, suberect, racemose, rachis flushed pale red, longer than the pseudobulbs, to 6" [15 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with persistent, green floral bracts and carrying glabrous, laquered flowers.
