Found in Iquitos Peru in tropical lowland forests at elevations around 100 meters as a small sized, hot growing epiphyte with fusiform pseudobulbs enveloped by whitish leaf sheaths carrying, about 6, deciduous, plicate, elliptic-oblanceolate, acuminate, deep green, 5 main veins prominent below leaves that blooms in the late summer and early fall on an erect, peduncle terete, , with several basal, very wide, obtuse bracts, racemose, to 8" [20 cm] long, 7 to 15 flowered inflorescence with ovate, acute to obtuse floral bracts and carrying somewhat ascending, resuinate, lemon yellow to orange yellow, the lip somewhat paller flowers.
