Found in Guerrero state of Mexico in montane rainforests at elevations around 1450 to 2000 meters as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte with ovoid-fusiform pseudobulbs carrying plicate, distichous, imbricate sheaths, green-glaucous leaves that blooms in the late spring and early summer on a basal, racemose, arcuate-pendulous, to 10" [to 25 cm] long, few to several flowered inflorescence arising on a newly arising pseudobulb with ovate bracts
