A small sized, hot to cool growing epiphyte from Mexico through Honduras? or Peru in wet montane forests at elevations of 400 to 1150 meters with cylindrical to fusiform, slightly compressed pseudobulbs enveloped completely by several, scarious, imbricate, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying elliptic-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, acuminate leaves that blooms in the late spring and summer on a slender, to 20" [50 cm] long, several flowered inflorescence arising on a mature leafless pseudobulb with thick, fleshy, color variable flowers
