Common Name Olivia's Myoxanthus

Flower Size

Found in Cusco department of Peru at elevations around 3100 meters as a cold growing epiphyte

"Myoxanthus oliviae, described from Peru, was said to differ from M. serripetalus in the colour of flowers, brownish yellowish vs. dark-purple, an entire midlobe vs. fimbriate midlobe and apex of the petals sagittate vs. apex oblong to linear. According to our revision, the linear apex of the petals in M. serripetalus (and dark-purple flowers) appears to be consistent. However, the entire midlobe of the lip in M. oliviae and brownish flowers are inconsistent, but a fimbriate margin may also be found." Gustavo Rojas-Alvarado, Mario A. Blanco, A. P. Karremans 2021
