Found in Pichincha Ecuador and Peru at elevations of 3450 to 4000 meters as a mini-miniature sized, cold growing terrestrial with when present, fasciculate, fleshy, elliptic, petioalte base leaves that blooms in the summer on an erect, short, enveloped completley by densely imbricating, funnel-shped sheaths, terminated by a conical, many flowered inflorescence with from a cuneate base, transversly elliptic with erose-denticulate margin floral bracts.
