SUBGENUS Mystax Luer 1986
A monotypic subsection characterized by a well developed ramicaul that is loosely sheathed and has a petiolate base leaf that blooms on a successively flowered racemose inflorescence arising through anannulus. The lateral sepals are connate below the middle and are widespread above. The lip is long-unguiculate and has a channeled claw as long as the suborbucular blade and has a short column with an apical anther and stigma.
