Common Name Perrier's Neobathiea [French Orchid Botanist in Madagascar 20th cen.]

Flower Size 1 3/4" [4.5 cm]

Found in northern and western Madagascar in tropical forests on or near riverbanks on bushes as a miniature to small sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with a short stem carrying several, glossy, slightly hard leaves with wavy margins and slightly obtusely bilobed that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an axillary, 3 1/4 to 6" [8 to 15 cm] long, 2 to 3 flowered inflorescence with fragrant flowers.
