Found in central Taiwan in forests at elevations of 2200 to 3300 meters as a miniature to small sized, cold growing terrestrial with a slender, ridged stem carrying 2, opposite, at or just above the middle of the stem, sessile, broadly ovate to ovate-deltoid, acute, truncate-subcordate basally leaves that blooms on a terminal, erect, 2.4 to 4.8" [6 to 12 cm] long, pubescent, with 1 to 3, ovate-lanceolate bracts, laxly 2 to 7 flowered inflorescence with ovate-lanceolate, acute floral bracts
