Found in French Guiana, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia in rain forests at elevations of 100 to 900 meters as a small sized, hot to warm growing, twig epiphyte with a short rhizome giving rise to close set, cylindrical, compressed pseudobulbs enveloped by pairs of leafless and leaf bearing, distichous, imbricating bracts and carrying very thin, linear-oblong to oblong, acute to obtuse to obliquely bilobes and apiculate, attenuate and conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms on lateral, pendant, racemose but rarely single branched, 4 to 10" [10 to 25 cm] long, laxly few to many flowered inflorescence with linear to linaerlanceolate, acute, slightly shorter to longer than the ovary floral bracts and carrying greenish yellow to yellow, membraneous, glabrous flowers.
