Common Name Campos Porto's Octomeria [Brazilian Engineer and Botanist and head of Rio Botanical Garden 1900's]

Found in Minas Gerais and Rio de Janiero states of Brazil in primary forests at elevations around 1200 meters as a mini-miniature sized, warm to cool growing epiphyte with an erect, woody stem enveloped by sheaths and a terete, light green leaf that blooms in the fall on a short, single flowered inflorescence arising from the leaf base
