Flower Size about 1" [about 2.5 cm]

Found in Colombia and Ecuador as a medium sized, cold growing epiphyte at elevations around 2300 to 2700 meters with ovoid-pyriform, ancipitous pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several pairs of distichous, imbricating, leaf-bearing sheaths and carrying 2 apical, ligulate, subcoriaceous, acute leaves that change below into a conduplicate base that blooms on a usually erect, many branched, to 3' [90 cm] long, many flowered inflorescence with fragrant, showy flowers occuring in the spring and summer.
