Part shade Cool Spring

Common Name The Ponta Grossa Oncidium [A city in the state of Parana' Brazil]

Flower Size .8" [2 cm]

Found in Parana' state of Brazil at elevations around 1000 meters as a miniature to small sized, cool growing epiphtye with wrinkled, ovate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by a few, conduplicate sheaths and carrying 2, apical, oblanceolate, somewhat leathery, acute, gradually becoming conduplicate below into the base leaves that blooms in the spring on an erect, to 20" [50 cm] long, basal, few branched, 10 to 15 flowered inflorescence arising on a newly matured pseudobulb and carrying simultaneously opening flowers.

The O batemannianum complex includes O blanchettii, O caldense, O paranapiacabense and O pontagrossense and newer references refer them all as synonyms of a very variable O batemannianum. I have left them and their synonyms separate for now as they are easily separated.

Synonyms Ampliglossum pontagrossense (Campacci) Campacci 2006; Coppensia pontagrossensis (Campacci) Campacci 2006
