Flower Size 1 1/2" [3.75 cm]

Found from Costa Rica to Ecuador in tropical, wet forests, dense wet secondary forest at elevations of sea level to 2000 meters as a large sized, hot to warm growing epiphyte or occasional terrestrial with oblong, laterally compressed, ancipitous, coarsly sulcate pseudobulbs enveloped basally by several leaf sheaths and carrying a single, apical, elliptic-oblong, subcoriaceous, obtuse and apiculate leaf that is conduplicate below and strongly carinate abaxially that blooms in the fall on a lateral, paniculate, 3 to 4 1/2' [1 to 1.5 m] long, many flowered inflorescence carrying fragrant flowers.

Koniger cites this species as a synonym of O lineoligerum and if true then this name takes precedence.
