Found in Greece, Turkey, Syria and Lebanon in short poor grasslands, garrigue, scrub and open woodlands at elevations up to 900 meters as a small to large sized, cool growing terrestrial with 6 to 12, oblong-lanceolate to linear leaves that blooms in the spring on a cylindric to oblong, 2.4 to 4.4" [6 to 11 cm] long, dense inflorescence with lanceolate bracts that equal or exceed the ovary and slightly scented flowers.
