Found in southwestern Sichuan and northwestern Yunnan provinces of China in forests at elevations around 3000 to 3190 meters as a small to medium sized, cold growing terrestrial with pyriform-conic, several noded pseudobulbs carrying a single, apical, broadly lanceolate, plicate, acute apically, tapering below into the petiolate base leaf that blooms in the late spring and early summer on an erect, 8 to 12.8" [20 to 32 cm] long, laxly many flowered inflorescence with 2 tubular sheaths below the middle and lanceolate floral bracts.
